Charalampos Markoutsas
Born in Greece in 1992, his musical talent was discovered at an early age when he began clarinet lessons at the Municipal Philharmonic School of Zakynthos Island, Greece while practising piano lessons and studying music theory with Mrs Panagiota Papvgelou at the Euehon Conservatory.
In 2010 he pursued his musical education by studying at the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University (Corfu island, Greece) with a scholarship throughout his 5-year studies, near Professor Miltos Logiadis, acquiring the Bachelor's degree in Orchestral Conducting, in 2015. Also, he had the opportunity to attend lessons in various music fields so that he could cover a great deal of knowledge. Additionally, he studied next to Professors Miranda Caldi, Maria-Emma Meligopoulou, Dimitra Trypani, Dimitris Ktistakis and Nikos Tsouchlos. During his studies, he collaborated with the Symphony Orchestra, the Mixed Choir and the Contemporary Music Ensemble (Portativ) of the Ionian University. He has also taken part in numerous seminars at the Corfu Summer Academy in Choir Conducting with: Ashworth Bartle, Basilio Astulez, André van der Merwe and Dr André Thomas and Orchestra Conducting in Greece with Michalis Economou, Andreas Pylarinos and Dariusz Mikulski, as well as abroad withRoberto Fiore and Luis Clemente.
Along with the Conducting Class, he attended the class of Composition with professors Joseph Papadatos and Dimitris Maragopoulos. In 2013 he was awarded the 11th Musical Composition Contest organized by the Fountouli Conservatoire in Volos City. He has worked as a musician and conductor with many musical ensembles and has participated in numerous events in Greece and abroad.
From 2015 he collaborates as a conductor with the Zakynthos Plucked Strings Orchestra.
